Hi there! I'm Dr. Kate Flynn, founder and guide at How to Human and I am so glad you are here.

About Me
​My roots are in chiropractic, movement, and energy medicine.
I’m a lifelong student of what it means to be human.
But more importantly: I’m someone who knows what it feels like to live disconnected, overwhelmed, and out of alignment — and what it takes to come back.
​
From losing my father at age two…
to the questionable choices of my youth…
to rebuilding my life in Ecuador and realizing you cannot heal a dysregulated mind in a body that doesn’t coordinate movement well —
my journey showed me something most systems miss:

Alignment isn’t a mindset.
It’s a physical reality.
And you can’t access it in a body that’s not working the way it was designed to.
For years, I watched people try everything — therapy, supplements, energy work, mindset shifts — only to keep looping in the same patterns.
Not because they were broken.
But because their body wasn’t online enough to support the instincts, clarity, and regulation they were trying to access.
That was my lightbulb moment.
And the moment this work was born.

How To Human Origins
After two decades in hands-on practice — chiropractic, movement science, rehab, energy work, anatomy, and the lived experience of watching hundreds of bodies — one thing has become unmistakably clear:
Whether you struggle or thrive in life comes down to how well your body coordinates movement.
Other factors add to or take away from this,
but nothing overrides it.

It’s the quiet variable no one talks about.
The foundation everything else depends on.
The missing piece between your inner world and your outer world.
My training gave me tools.
My life — the trials, errors, Human Design 3/5 opportunities, and constant rebuilding — gave me wisdom.

What I Believe
You aren’t meant to be at war with your body.
You aren’t meant to outsource your clarity.
You aren’t meant to spend your life searching for fixes.
Your body isn’t confusing — it’s intelligent.
It has a language.
You just were never taught how to listen.
When you restore movement coordination and nervous system harmony, your instincts come back online.
Your clarity returns.
And life stops feeling like something that happens to you —
because you finally feel like you again.
That’s alignment.
That’s the work.

Why I Created How to Human
After 15+ years in practice, I realized that the modern approach to healing on a whole-life level is outdated, cumbersome, and inefficient.
All we really need is:

a nervous system that supports us

internal boundaries that maintain our energy

and the ability to realign without relying on anyone else
No one teaches these things.
So I built a school that does.

I don’t do fluff, theatrics, mindset hacks, or spiritual bypassing.

I’m not here to heal you.
