The Body Check
A few simple questions to see how clearly your body is communicating your instincts.
No overthinking. No comparing. Just awareness — your body will tell you everything you need to know.

Enjoy a slow breath and bring your attention

into your body.

Your body is a mirror for how well you’re in touch with your instincts.

Each question will show you how clearly your body is gathering and using information.

All you need is curiosity and a moment of honesty.

Let's Begin!

Grab a pen and paper to note your yes’s and no’s.

Step 1.png

Are your toes the widest part of your feet?

This means your feet can spread and balance you naturally.

Look down — do your toes splay wider than your midfoot, or do they taper inward toward your big toe?

Step 2.png

When you stand, are the inner edges of your feet

equally lifted?

This shows your arches are active and your feet are

sensing the ground.

Stand barefoot — do your big toes and heels press down evenly, or do your arches collapse toward the floor?

Step 3.png

Do your ankles stay upright and neutral when you stand?

This keeps your knees, hips, and spine stable.

Stand normally in front of a mirror and notice — do they roll inward toward each other, or stay straight above your feet?

Step 4.png

Do your knees align directly over your feet when you stand?

This allows balanced movement through your hips and legs.

Stand naturally and glance down — are your knees pointing straight ahead, or do they cave inward or lock back?

Step 5.png

Does your pelvis feel centered — not tucked under or pushed forward?

This creates natural stability through your core and spine.

Stand up and notice if your hips push forward or your low back is overly arched — that’s your cue the pelvis is out of neutral.

6.png

Does your ribcage expand in all directions when you breathe?

This signals nervous-system regulation and balanced core engagement.

Stand in front of a mirror and observe your breath — does your ribcage expand as though you were blowing up a balloon? Or does it move up and down with the rise and fall of your shoulders?

7.png

Do your shoulders stack evenly above your hips?

This means your spine is carrying weight efficiently.

Look in a mirror — does one shoulder sit higher or roll forward? Or are your shoulders offset from your hips?

8.png

Can you balance on one foot with your eyes closed for 10 seconds?

This tests your inner-ear, eye, and foot communication.

Try it — if you wobble or catch yourself quickly, your balance systems are asking for retraining.

9.png

Do the openings of your ears line up with your shoulders?

This shows your head and neck are aligned with the rest of your spine.

This one takes a little more body awareness. If you’re not sure: Have someone observe you from the side — are your ears stacked above your shoulders or drifting forward?

10.png

Do your jaw and tongue rest easily?

This reflects calmness in your entire nervous system.

Check in — is your tongue pressing into your teeth or the roof of your mouth? Do you often clench without realizing it? Has your dentist said that you grind your teeth?
